The Canadian government is joining with the premiers of Canada’s Atlantic provinces to initiate a new strategy for growth targeted at economic stimulation and increasing hiring in the region. Several federal ministers (including P.E.I. Premier Wade MacLauchlan, Newfoundland & Labrador Premier Dwight Ball, New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant, and Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil) met in July 2016 to plan the strategy and make a formal announcement to the public.

The central part of the three-year pilot immigration program is an attempt to bring thousands of immigrants to the area. The provincial premiers are also focusing on other areas to strengthen their economies. With immigration being encouraged in Canada, this is a great time to consider moving to the country. Become A Canadian will help you decide the fastest way to make this move.

Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, John McCallum, says there is a specifically strong need for immigrants to work and live in the Atlantic provinces. McCallum also said that around 2,000 to 4,000 foreign nationals might be allowed to come to Canada as immigrants and settle in these Canadian provinces yearly with this program being created. The component of immigration will be mostly driven by the needs of the province and their provincial governments.

McCallum mentioned that even though this program is a pilot for Atlantic Canada, it could become a model for the rest of Canada to follow in the coming years. Canada is a very welcoming country for immigrants. Become A Canadian is a privately owned company ready to assist you in the process of moving to Canada.
